A quacking time for families at Carsington Water this Feb half term

Carsington Water is launching ‘Quacky Quests’ this half-term to give families and children the chance to become Duck-tectives.
The new beaky stars of Severn Trent adverts are Sally and Martin, a pair of cute, chatty and funny ducks.
Now the water company is calling on ‘quack teams’ to track down hidden cardboard cut-outs of mallards at the Derbyshire reservoir site and return them safely to our Visitor Centre team – to win a sweet treat.
The fun hunt runs over half -term, from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd February.
Donna Marshall, Senior Visitor Engagement Officer at Severn Trent, said: “We’re on the look-out for our best duck-tectives to help us find our feathery friends.
“Whether you’re just out for a walk or making the most out of the amazing facilities we have at Carsington Water, keep your eyes peeled for our missing mallards!
“If you’re lucky enough to find one you will be able to claim a sweet treat so we’re encouraging everyone to get involved and have some fun this half-term.”
There are many other activities to get involved in at Carsington Water, including our free hands-on water exhibition, a great café and restaurant, a huge play area and local, independent shops in the courtyard.
The Mainsail restaurant, which overlooks the reservoir, is the perfect place to enjoy a bite to eat or a cuppa and relax after a day full of fun.
Severn Trent’s ‘Quacky Quests’ will also take place at some of its other visitor sites, including Draycote Water in Warwickshire, Tittesworth Water in Staffordshire and Upper Derwent Valley in North Derbyshire.
