Four Derby businesses have been handed a zero rating following assessments by food safety officers in 2023, while a further five have received a score of one.
According to the Food Standards Agency scale, a zero star means "urgent improvement is required”, while a one star rating means “major improvement is necessary”.
During inspections, food hygiene officers, rate businesses on hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, along with management of food safety and other standards.
