'Absolutely over the moon' Derbyshire hairdresser scoops two awards at prestigious industry events
Tracey Ann Smith won two top awards at the Hair Awards and Salon Business Awards, showcasing her exceptional talent on the same day.
A Derbyshire hairdresser is celebrating after winning two top awards from separate industry events on the same day.
Owner of French & Ivi salon Tracey Ann Smith attended two events in London on Monday, March 16; the Hair Awards and the Salon Business Awards.
The Hair Awards ceremony took place at The Standard, London. The afternoon celebration brought together some of the UK’s most respected names in hairdressing to honour excellence within the industry.
Tracey scooped the award for Best Hair Transformation, submitting a photographic entry that showcased a striking hair colour result, supported by before imagery and a written explanation of her process.
The look was created using water-based colour brand Coloraqua and finished with MOOD styling products.
Tracey serves as Artistic Director for both brands, where she spearheads creative vision, product development and brand imagery.
Later that evening, Tracey attended the Salon Business Awards at Sea Containers, London.
The event brought together judges, sponsors and leading names from across the sector for a night of glamour, recognition and industry pride.
As one of the most highly regarded ceremonies in the industry, run by trade publication Salon Business, the awards celebrate outstanding talent across hairdressing.
Tracey said she was ‘overjoyed’ to receive one of the evening’s most coveted accolades – the Global Stylist Award.
This category recognises hairdressers with exceptional vision, a distinctive style, and a strong presence within the international hairdressing industry.
In her written entry, Tracey demonstrated her expertise across creative work and education, as well as her success in elevating brands and building a global reputation, with her work taking her across the world and earning international recognition.
Discussing her double win, Tracey said: “Wow, what a 24 hours! I am absolutely over the moon to have won these two awards at the Hair Awards and the Salon Business Awards - it really makes all the hard work worthwhile. I’m incredibly grateful.”
