With GCSE Results Day just around the corner, we’ve taken a look at state-funded secondary schools across Derby and Derbyshire, based on recent Progress 8 scores — a key measure that tracks how much progress students make between the end of primary school and their GCSEs.
The scores currently reflect the 2022/23 academic year, until the 2023/24 data is finalised.
To make the cut, schools needed to have:
- A Progress 8 score above the national average (above 0),
- An overall Ofsted grade of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ at their most recent inspection — covering quality of teaching, student behaviour, leadership, and safeguarding.
