Disney-on-Ice: Our magical family tradition with a few budget tips
Our family tradition with Disney on Ice's magical show in Birmingham, plus savvy tips to keep your visit wallet-friendly.
Our annual Disney On Ice adventure is officially a family tradition now, and this year’s Find Your Hero show at BP Pulse Live in Birmingham didn’t disappoint.
Ada (4), Alice (7), and little Tommy (1) were totally spellbound from start to finish — and honestly, so were we.
From the moment the lights dimmed, it was pure Disney magic. Ariel swirled through the waves, Moana danced her way across the ice, Belle brought the castle to life, and of course Elsa had every child in the arena belting “Let It Go” at the top of their lungs.
Ada was waving her glowing wand like a pro, Alice was twirling in her princess dress, and Tommy sat wide-eyed the whole time — not bad for a one-year-old!
Now, a few savvy parent tips — especially if you’re heading to BP Pulse Live or another big arena.

Parking on-site was £18.95, so if you can, look for a cheaper car park nearby or hop on the train instead. Definitely eat before you go or pack some snacks and drinks; the popcorn was an eye-watering £14, and the food stalls aren’t exactly wallet-friendly.
And as tempting as the official merch stands are (those flashing wands and plush toys really call your name), it’s worth setting expectations early — the kids will have just as much fun without them.
Despite the costs, the show itself is every bit as magical as you’d hope. The skating, the costumes, the music — it’s everything you want from Disney, with that extra sparkle that only happens on ice.
Seeing the girls dressed up in their princess outfits, dancing and singing along, makes it all worth it.
If you love Disney as much as we do, this is one to keep on your annual list — just plan smartly and your day will be stress-free and full of magic.
