The Peak District is filled with some of the region’s most gorgeous villages and market towns.
It can well be said Derbyshire is the one of the UK’s top food destinations, offering up delicious treats such as Bakewell tart and Dovedale Blue cheese.
The Peak District is a tourist attraction in its own right, drawing over 13 million visitors each year - approximately the same amount of people that visit London’s Hyde Park.
There is much to love about Derbyshire.
From miles-long views across shimmering rivers to babbling brooks, pretty waterfalls and striking cliffs, it is easy to see why people love and return to Derbyshire time and again.

3. Tideswell
Tideswell is one of the Peak District's bigger villages. It is home to the magnificent church of St John the Baptist, known as the 'Cathedral of the Peak' and was fondly referred to as a 'grand and inspiring church' by Sir John Betjeman. | Jason Chadwick
4. Ashford-in-the-Water
Sitting pretty on the River Wye is Ashford-in-the-Water, which Countryfile refers to as 'possibly the Peak's prettiest village'. Here is the medieval Sheepwash Bridge, a serene spot filled with sweeping willow trees.
