The beauty of afternoon tea is, despite its celebratory nature, you don’t need an excuse to dive into delectable desserts, pretty pastries and scrumptious sandwiches.

Who would have thought the act of munching sandwiches and downing tea would become known as a worldwide treat?

It appears to be one of the world’s most popular pastimes - on Instagram alone there are over 7.3million posts with the hashtag #AfternoonTea.

There is even a whole week is dedicated to it, falling each year in the first week of August. This year it is set to run between 11th - 17th August 2025, so do keep your eyes peeled as we’ve got some fabulous content coming up for that too.

There is something so very special about taking afternoon tea (pinkie raised) which feels almost celebratory.
