‘I love Costa Coffee’s new menu, fan favourite is fabulous chocolate treat’

Toasted panini with brie and chilli jam was just one highlight of an exciting menu

Costa Coffee have launched a new season menu and it is packed chock-full with flavours of autumn.

I decided to visit the Derby branch on a perfect autumnal day, filled with blazing sunshine and single-digit temperatures.

Costa Coffee’s new autumn menu features new and returning favourites.

Maple Hazel range makes a welcome return to deliver cosy autumn feels.

I tried the hot Maple Hazel latte - which is also available in an iced latte version - topped with a delicate yet crunchy biscuit.

The silken topping, which felt like texturised milk, was so good, I felt this was an ace dessert - drink hybrid that could be enjoyed on the go.

Fans of Maple Hazel can also enjoy the Maple Hazel hot chocolate which is a twist on the classic and another comforting treat.

I tucked into the brie, bacon and chilli jam panini which is a new menu item this year.

I enjoyed the beechwood smoked streaky bacon.

But it was the combination of sticky chilli jam and unctuous brie that elevated this sandwich from good, to “get in my belly now.”

Also new to the range is the Maple Slice featuring an all-butter shortbread base, topped with a rich, moist filling flavoured with maple syrup, caramel, and a blend of pecans and hazelnuts.

But it was the return of fan favourite Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake that ticked all my boxes. It felt like a luxuriously decadent treat.
