I discover Costa Coffee’s new Spanish Latte is luxurious drink with a twist to banish January blues
Spanish Latte is Costa Coffee’s new coffee with a twist, a drink I just had to try out in Derby city’s branch.
Taking inspiration from Spanish café bombón - where condensed milk is added to espresso - Costa’s offering is sweeter than its signature classic latte range.

Hide AdCosta Coffee’s Spanish Latte is part of their new range which includes a new All-Day Breakfast Toastie, and Wiltshire Ham and Mature Cheddar Cheese Croissant.
So, there really is something for everyone! Fans of the sweet stuff can try the new Banana and Chocolate Muffin, while the return of fan favourite Orange Raspberry Victoria Sponge also makes for a light and citrussy themed treat.
What is Costa Coffee Spanish Latte?
A condensed milk-flavoured sauce is added to espresso, finished off with a dusting of cappuccino powder.
The cost of a medium Spanish Latte is £4.55.
I found the coffee base to be punchy. It was the addition of milky sauce that gave the drink a luxuriously velvety twist, tempering strong coffee notes with a silken mouth-feel.

Hide AdI love food and drink pairing, so I paired Spanish Latte with Millionaire’s Shortbread.
The buttery crumb of the shortbread and earthy caramel notes married well with the creamy condensed milk notes in the latte.
It is something I highly recommend.
Valentine’s Day at Costa Coffee
To dispel January blues, Costa have added two new iced gingerbread biscuits emblazoned with cute messages of ‘Love' and ‘Hug Me’.
They could be the perfect Valentine’s Day treat for a loved one or a sweet way to show someone you care!
