New Derby restaurants and cafés that opened in 2024

1. Glamberry

Opening on September 28, 2024, Glamberry on The Strand is a haven for fans of artisan coffee and cake. Tuck into freshly baked cookies, iced cakes and more, as you take in the vibrant pink decor.

2. Bloom Juice Co. Derby

Opening on October 17, 2024, Bloom Juice Co. serves up a host of delights including smoothies, iced coffee, real fruit frappés and freshly baked snacks.

3. Café Central

Opening in December 2023, this family run business has an impressive cake counter and eye-catching interior with artsy vibes.

4. Cinnabon Derbion

This pastry and coffee shop is an elegant eatery that opened in December 2023. Elegant aqua branding and hot coffee aside, its location in Derbion means people can enjoy a break whilst shopping in the city.

5. Coffee #1 Derby

Welcoming the people of Derby through its doors in December 2023, this café celebrates local legends through hand painted bespoke artwork whilst serving up drinks with a twist - Cinnamon Bun Latte anyone?

6. Derby Pyclets - online independent business, stocked across various Derby sites

Selling a Derbyshire delicacy that has been around the city for over 160 years, this quaint independent business reopened under new ownership and can be found at local stockists including Derby Heritage Centre.

7. Apple Tree Bar & Grill

Opening in April 2024, Apple Tree is one of the leading ‘desi’ pubs in Derby.

This unassuming bar also serves top notch curries, pillowy naans, soft rotis and piquant samosa chaat.

8. R Lounge

Opening in June 2024, the bar has become a popular Instagram-friendly hotspot in the city with cocktails and drinks offers galore.

9. Boa Tapas Bar

Tapas and cocktails go hand in hand which is why this bar, which opened in December 2023 in time for the festive party season, is a hit with locals.

10. House Boat Restaurant Derby

Opening on August 2024, this is one of Derby’s newest South Indian restaurants. Diners can tuck into thali platters, masala dosa and more.

11. Darcy’s Fish & Chips

Opening on December 13, 2024, this fish and chip restaurant with 120 covers is the latest eatery to open in Derby.

12. Nines

Opening in September 2024, this eatery will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from its prime city location. Dishes to enjoy include sushi, sliders and more.

One of the city’s bar and grill restaurants that opened in February 2024 has a cool talking point of waterfall and palm tree at the entrance.

14. Omomo

Authentic Korean dishes and bubble tea have been served by this eatery since it opened in January 2024. Bibimbap and Army Stew served table-side is what diners can expect from this funky restaurant with cool cafe vibes.

This is possibly one of the swankiest restaurant in Derby that opened in February 2024 on Valentine’s Day. Expect seasonal menus, fresh seafood and Great Gatsby vibes.
