‘Excitement’ as new farm shop with café set to open in tiny village 60 minutes from Derby
The farm shop will sell locally-grown, organic produce
A new farm shop with a café is set to open in a Nottinghamshire village.
The new Martin’s Organic Farm Shop will open next to the popular Martin’s Arms pub in Colston Bassett over the coming months.
Located in an outbuilding near the pub’s car park, it’s hoped that the new farm shop will open during the autumn.
In a Facebook post, the pub’s owner Laurence Henry and his wife Sera said: “We are proud to introduce a new destination for fresh, locally grown organic produce.
“This space will also feature a welcoming café, a bakery offering a carefully selected range of goods, and a curated collection of organic wines, to pair with delicious, locally sourced cheese - all rooted in their shared passion for quality, sustainability and community.”
Laurence, who won the 2018 edition of the BBC cooking show Masterchef, took over the Martin’s Arms last September.
The pub was recently named in the 2025 edition of the prestigious Michelin Guide.
