Derby County and Portsmouth battled to a nail-biting 2-2 draw in the Sky Bet Championship, thrilling over 20,000 fans with last-minute drama.

Derby County versus Portsmouth match saw a 2-2 draw in a nail-biting Sky Bet Championship contest today (Saturday, April 12, 2025).

The dramatic match saw a penalty for the hosts denied by Jacob Widell Zetterström’s save in just the sixth minute from Colby Bishop.

Derby came close numerous times as Craig Forsyth struck just over the frame of the goal, and Marcus Harness’ attempt hit the underside of the crossbar in a frenetic first half.

Jerry Yates was the first to score from close range in the 70th minute.

The lead lasted less than 60 seconds, with defender Rob Atkinson heading from close range.

The game took another twisted turn as Pompey’s goalscorer netted an own goal to give Derby a 2-1 lead.

However the final twist came in added time with Atkinson redeeming his error and getting a levelling goal in stoppage time.

The match was attended by 20,412 fans, 2,155 of whom were Derby County supporters.

Derby County will return to Pride Park Stadium for Easter Sky Bet Championship action this coming week for an Easter showdown on Friday, April 18, against Luton Town for a 12,30pm kick-off.
