‘Scenic’ 2.5-mile countryside walk near Derbyshire takes in autumn colours and ends at a farm shop
The circular walk also takes in the beauty of Creswell Crags
Meteorological autumn is now officially here, which means that we’ll typically be spending less time outdoors.
But there are so many reasons why autumn is actually the perfect time to swap an afternoon in-front of the telly for the great outdoors.
At this time of year, the beautiful woodlands are transformed by a palette of colours as leaves turn brown, red and gold.
These truly spectacular views are especially prominent during sunrise and sunset.
The good news is that there are literally hundreds of official footpaths across Nottinghamshire where you can explore the very best of the county’s rural gems.
There are also plenty of official walking routes, including one which ends at an award-winning farm shop.
The 2.5-mile Welbeck Estate Hidden Gem Walk
You’d do well to find a better autumn walk than the Welbeck Estate Hidden Gem walk, particularly if you’re a sucker for a farm shop.
The 2.5 mile route will take you through scenic countryside, including the majestic limestone gorge of Creswell Crags and the picturesque village of Holbeck.

Starting at the Harley Gallery in the heart of the estate, the walk will take you through scenic countryside, including the majestic limestone gorge of Creswell Crags and the picturesque town of Holbeck.
The walk ends back at the Harley Gallery, which is located right next to the award-winning Welbeck Farm Shop.
The route can easily be started at other points, from either Creswell Crags or Holbeck.
Stocking a range of locally-produced food and drink - including produce from the Welbeck Estate - the shop was named Farm Shop Retailer of the Year back in May.

The nearby Harley Café is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat after completing the walk.
Free parking is available at the Harley Gallery and car parking is also available at Creswell Crags visitor centre.
You can find the full route here.
