Passengers due to travel are advised to stay in touch with their airlines for updates to their flights.
UK airports have been plunged into chaos due to ‘technical issues’ impacting all UK outbound flights.
Flights across the UK have been thrown into chaos due to apparent radar issues.
Flights have been suspended in East Midlands, Birmingham and the wider country.

East Midlands Airport has issued this guidance for travellers, writing on a social post: ‘A national air traffic control issue is affecting flights across the country meaning many departures and arrivals are currently impacted. Passengers due to travel are advised to stay in touch with their airlines for updates to their flights’.
Here is the full statement from the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) which was released at 4.23pm today (Wednesday, July 30, 2025).
The National Air Traffic Services (Nats) statement
"As a result of a technical issue at NATS Swanwick air traffic control centre, we are limiting the number of aircraft flying in the London control area in order to ensure safety, which is always our first priority.
"We apologise for any delays this may cause.
"Our engineers are working hard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible and we are working closely with airlines to help minimise disruption.
"At this stage we cannot say how long it will be before operations are back to normal. Please check with your airline on the status of your flight."
