Derby County versus Oxford United photos show delighted fans and bold Rams defence

Derby County earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Oxford United at Kassam Stadium, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's equaliser marking an important point for the Rams.

Derby County took on Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

The Rams came into the game following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Millwall at The Den, starting with four key changes.

Kane Wilson replaced Ryan Nyambe, who left the field of play injured against Millwall with a knee injury. Callum Elder, Ben Osborn and Mendez-Laing came into the side.

Oxford had some familiar faces in their matchday squad, with former Rams Louie Sibley and Malcolm Ebiowei on the bench for the U’s.

An early goal came from Oxford attacker Dane Scarlett in the 12th minute.

The teams went into half-time with the hosts holding a 1-0 lead.

Scarlett’s early goal was cancelled out by Derby’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s equaliser in the second half, which is also his first goal of the season.

The Rams’ gutsy performance culminated in a 1-1 draw against Oxford United.

Derby County earned a second point in as many games in the Sky Bet Championship.
