The Derby make-up artists that have been honoured in this year's national awards

Three of Derby’s finest independent cosmetic businesses have been honoured at this year's English Makeup Awards.

The awards aim to celebrate makeup artists (MUAs) with a flair for creativity, who provide top class services and treatments, using innovative products and techniques. 

Erika’s Beauty, a salon on Camden Street, Derby, won Makeup Salon of the Year in the East Midlands.

Natalie Clarke’s Studio4.6, based on Uttoxeter Old Road, Derby, scooped Bridal Make Up Specialist of the Year in the East Midlands.

Majbeen Fatima based in Derby city centre won the Freelance Make Up Artist of the Year in the East Midlands.

Speaking to Derby World, a thrilled Majbeen said: “This is such a proud moment for me to have all the years of hard work and dedication recognised across the country. 

“I have been working as a makeup artist and educator in Derby for almost 10 years now and I pride myself on providing the most relaxing and luxurious experience for my lovely, loyal clients in my private home studio! 

“I am truly grateful for being awarded this title for the second year running as it motivates me to keep improving and growing my small business!”

The English Makeup Awards have been running since 2019.

They aim to celebrate the dedication of the specialists who enhance clients’ features, while improving their appearance and confidence.

This year’s awards were an online campaign with the winners being announced on Sunday, February 25.

Irfan Younis, spokesperson for The English Makeup Awards 2024 said: “We are honoured to once again recognise the top makeup artists and salons from across England.

“This year’s winners are some of the most respected in the country, whose hard work and impeccable service reflect the high standard of the makeup industry.

“We would like to congratulate all of our winners and Highly Commended recipients on their accomplishments.”

A total of 57 awards were announced by English Makeup Awards, with categories including Special Effects Artist Of The Year, and Celebrity Makeup Artist Of The Year.
