Derby murder probe: Inquest hears details about Corey Duffy's death
Eight people have been arrested following his death, as Oliver McManus reports from Chesterfield coroners' court
An inquest into the death of Corey Duffy has heard he was stabbed near his home in Derby.
Chesterfield coroners' court was told bystanders tried to save the 30-year-old after he was fatally stabbed twice in the lung.
Mr Duffy was pronounced dead just metres from his home on Bass Street shortly after 3.45pm on June 11.
It is reported he suffered the fatal injuries in Cooper Street, around 100 metres away, and he then attempted to run back to his home.
Mr Duffy's inquest was opened at the court on Thursday by assistant coroner Sophie Lomas.

Evidence was heard that bystanders had tried to save him as "bled heavily" outside his house.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The hearing was told a Home Office post-mortem found Mr Duffy had suffered at least two stab wounds - both of which had penetrated his lung and caused his death. He was identified by his mother, Louise.
A total of eight people have been arrested in connection with his death.
Seven currently remain on police bail - two men, 24 and 21, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, and five other individuals who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The eighth person - Brandon Froggatt, of Ashley Street, Derby - was charged with murder after Mr Duffy's death and remanded into custody while awaiting trial.
The inquest was adjourned for a review in August.
