Derby named as one of UK's worst train stations for delays
Derby is one of the worst train stations in the UK for passenger delays, according to a new study.
Digital marketing and PR agency Tank analysed 660 routes and 50 stations using data from July to December 2024 to uncover the best and worst journeys for morning commuters.

Hide AdDerby was named as the 7th-worst station for delays in the UK, above stations including London Paddington, Nottingham and St Pancras.
Around 21% of trains are delayed by more than five minutes – and 4.5% cancelled – at the station, which serves around 10,993 passengers every day
The study round Peterborough to Nottingham to be the country’s worst commuter route, with 39% of delays over five minutes and 13% of services cancelled.
It also has an average delay time of 7.5 minutes – 69% higher than the average morning commuter train.

London Kings Cross is the worst station for commuters with 26% of trains delayed by more than five minutes and 6% cancelled.
