This is when Derby's next Meet the Makers event will be held
The event always proves to be popular with shoppers, as Ella Beecroft tells us
Derby's pop-up market for local designers and makers will return this weekend.
Meet the Makers Market by Design 44 promises to showcase a selection of items from independent brands in the area, including jewellery, wax melts and artwork.
The event will be held outside Boots on level one of the Derbion Shopping Centre on Saturday and Sunday.
Jade Devall, owner of the Design 44 shop, said: "We have supported small businesses between our stores spanning nearly 10 years - and wanted to give makers more opportunities and customers a chance to meet the makers in person.
"The aim of these markets is to bring the makers to the forefront of the local community and to purchase directly from the maker."
The first Meet The Makers Market took place on the last weekend of April and there were 14 stalls.
Despite the evacuation of the shopping centre on the Saturday because of a fire in its car park, the brand had a successful market - and hopes for less drama this time around.
Small businesses taking part in this month's market include Lil Bear Bites, a Derby-based cookie business, Mālama, a vegan wax melts and reed diffusers firm, and Cushy Paws, a Staffordshire-based textiles and artwork business.
Design 44 opened in Derbion in 2013 providing hand-made lifestyle gifts made by local designers.
It is one of the most successful independent stores in the midlands and the brand is committed to creating eco-friendly products.
If you are unable to attend this weekend's Meet The Makers Market, there will another at the end of June and organisers are planning more event for later in the year.
