Icy stretches and sleet showers will be developing overnight, bringing some disruption, especially to travel.

Frequent sleet or snow showers are expected to move across the country and into the Midlands and parts of southern England during the rest of the night.

These are likely to produce snow accumulations of 2-4 cm in places, chiefly above 200 metres, but also possibly at low levels under heavier and more persistent shower bands over northwest England and into the Peak District, where a few places above 300 m could see 5-10 cm of snow accumulating.
