Derbyshire weekend weather warning: 'Disruptive strong winds’ expected across East Midlands
The Met Office has released a yellow weather warning for Derbyshire this weekend, highlighting potential transport delays
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering Derbyshire over the coming weekend.

The yellow wind warning starts at 6am on Sunday, February 23, 2025 and ends 12 hours later at 6pm on Sunday evening.
Southwesterly winds currently making their way across the UK are expected to increase through Sunday morning, peaking late morning to early afternoon.
Gusts of around 50mph to 60mph, as much as as 70mph in exposed spots along Irish Sea coastlines are expected.
Met Office say rain will accompany strong winds, which will make for very poor weather conditions, especially on roads.
Winds will then ease from southwest to northeast of the warning area through the afternoon and early evening.
The East Midlands weather alert is one of five warnings that have been issued today by Met Office.
Other regions affected by the yellow wind warning include North West England, Orkney & Shetland, SW Scotland, South West England, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber.
What is a yellow weather warning?
This warning has a medium likelihood and a low impact. This means people can expect some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
Some bus and train services may be affected, with some journeys taking longer than usual.
Some short term loss of power and other services is possible, and delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely.
