The majority of sales in East Midlands during the last year were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £228,944, according to Rightmove.
Detached properties sold for an average of £370,866, with terraced properties fetching £187,179.
Our findings are based on the latest figures provided by Rightmove.
East Midlands, with an overall average price of £264,035 was more expensive than nearby Yorkshire and the Humber (£237,496), but was cheaper than West Midlands (£278,234) and East of England (£394,058).
The most expensive area within East Midlands was Rutland (£420,914) and the cheapest was Lincolnshire (£228,649).
Overall sold prices in East Midlands over the last year were similar to the previous year and similar to the 2022 level of £268,719.
We have ranked each area by looking at the average house price for a semi-detached home:

1. Hambleton, Rutland
The majority of sales in Rutland during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £539,427. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £311,410, with terraced properties fetching £313,076. Rutland, with an overall average price of £420,914 was more expensive than nearby Leicestershire (£295,335), Northamptonshire (£307,763) and Nottinghamshire (£251,798). The most expensive area within Rutland was Hambleton (£2,500,000) and the cheapest was Belton In Rutland (£237,500). 2. Walgrave, Northamptonshire
Most of the sales in Northamptonshire over the past year were detached properties which on average sold for £437,784. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £272,997 and terraced properties averaged at £231,108. Northamptonshire, with an overall average price of £307,763, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Leicestershire (£295,335), but was more expensive than Nottinghamshire (£251,798) and cheaper than Rutland (£420,914). The most expensive area within Northamptonshire was Walgrave (£759,929) and the cheapest was Corby (£230,009). 3. Swithland. Leicestershire
Most of the sales in Leicestershire over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £258,759. Detached properties had an average sold price of £419,908 and terraced properties averaged at £218,093. Leicestershire, with an overall average price of £295,335, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Northamptonshire (£307,763), but was more expensive than Nottinghamshire (£251,798) and cheaper than Rutland (£420,914). The most expensive area within Leicestershire was Swithland (£1,300,000) and the cheapest was Aylestone (£220,448). 4. Nottinghamshire
Last year most property sales in Nottinghamshire involved semi-detached properties which sold for on average £220,972. Detached properties sold for an average price of £358,793, while terraced properties fetched £173,529. Nottinghamshire, with an overall average price of £251,798, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Derbyshire (£249,094), but was more expensive than Lincolnshire (£228,649) and cheaper than Leicestershire (£295,335). The priciest area within Nottinghamshire was Oxton (£712,500) and the least expensive was Creswell (£140,016).
