Over the years we have seen numerous shops open and close in Derby.

Change is inevitable, that is how communities grow.

However we can still look forward to evolving, while taking a look back with fondness to the shops of days gone by.

There has been a massive change in the way the high street feels and looks.

This is down to a number of factors including a changing trading environment and people’s shopping habits.

The pandemic no doubt turbo-charged digital transformation and saw businesses - and therefore their customers - to buy more online.
