Derby County youngster describes his first goal as a "big relief"
Derby County won 1-0 against Port Vale on Tuesday night
Tyreece John-Jules helped the Rams to a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night against Port Vale.
His late winner sealed the deal just minutes after he came onto the pitch following his lengthy injury.
The Arsenal loanee had been dealing with a thigh injury since late August and hadn't yet scored for Derby since he joined.
Paul Warne will need to make a decision on whether to keep him for the second half of the season in January, his hot start may keep him at Pride Park.
After the game John-Jules said it was a long time coming, he told Rams TV: "I dreamt of this last night to be fair! It's just a big relief.
"I've been through a hard time since I've been here and only played two games before tonight, but I've been keeping strong and I want to say thank you to the medical team for sticking with me and getting me through this period. I'm just delighted."
It will come as a relief to Derby boss Paul Warne too as he has been looking for a goalscorer since the departure of David McGoldrick in the summer.
John-Jules may be the solution to the problem. He added: "It's been very difficult, especially as I came back from the one I had in September and did it again; the exact same thing.
"I had my family around me, the medical team around me and my team-mates every day coming in trying to keep me happy so I want to say thank you to everyone. I just want to try and stay fit and get as many games as possible now." Derby have now won four league games in a row and find themselves in sixth place just six points off the top of the league.
With the recent form looking good, the Arsenal loanee is delighted that he can now help contribute to the team's results.
He said: "Performances have been good I've just been itching to come on and try and help the boys. We can always improve but the lads have been doing well and we've been getting the points we wanted."
