Key players questionable in Derby County latest injury news
Derby County face Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 10 February
Derby County have a number of key players that are in doubt ahead of their clash with Shrewsbury Town this weekend.
Having had injury issues early on in the season, manager Paul Warne will be hoping that the Rams can stay relativley fit as they continue to mount their promotion charge.
Here is the latest injury news from Derby's squad:
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
Mendez-Laing has been a key player for Derby this season. Many fans will have been worried to see him limping off the field against Charlton last weekend.
Just before he scored, he hurt his foot in a tackle where a stud had gone through his boot. The Guatemalan international is questionable to make an appearance against Shrewsbury on Saturday but either way, it won't be a long-term absence.
Corey Blackett-Taylor
Corey Blackett-Taylor didn't manage to face his former team at the weekend as he suffered an injury to a leg muscle in training prior to Saturday's game.
He is still recovering and, like Mendez-Laing, is a doubt for this Saturday, but shouldn't prove to be out for a long time.
Tyreece John-Jules
Derby's Arsenal loanee suffered a heartbreaking injury in the game against Reading a couple of weeks ago.
He injured his hamstring and was set to have a medical scan, it is unsure when he will return but it could be a fairly lengthy amount of time.
Craig Forsyth
Forsyth is likely to return before we get to March after he has been recovering from a calf injury at the start of January.
The 34 year-old left back has since lost his spot in the starting XI to Callum Elder and so will be battling to win his place back when he returns.
Conor Washington
Conor Washington has been out for a long period of time now after having to undergo ankle surgery from an injury he suffered whilst on international duty with Northern Ireland.
The striker is getting closer to a return and has been spotted back on grass this week and could be back before the end of the month.
Martyn Waghorn
Waghorn was set to return very soon, however he suffered a set back with his calf injury whilst in recovery and so will have to wait a bit longer before he can come back.
The striker will likely return in a month or so.
Jake Rooney
Jake Rooney suffered a severe ACL injury against Bolton at the start of September forcing him to undergo surgery in early Autumn.
He is doing well in recovery, but will very likely not play for the Rams again this season.
