Derby County find themselves in the mix of the promotion race this season as they sit in second place.

Paul Warne's side are in good form and will be looking for thier third win in a row on Saturday.

They face a Shrewsbury Town side who are the lowest scoring team in League One and have recently undergone a manager change signing former head coach Paul Hurst.

Paul Warne and Paul Hurst are former teammates and have a good friendship despite being on the opposite sides of the field.

Speaking to Rams TV, Paul Warne said: "He's great, Hursty! I played with him for years and he was a really resolute and determined professional.

"He's a really good guy. He's done a brilliant job at Shrewsbury before and they've got a good squad of players now.

"I know it will be a tough game, they always are. It will be nice to see him but nice to see him at 5pm, though."

Warne said that he doesn't enjoy facing a friend, especially in management. He added: "You have a real competitive edge on a matchday and you just have to sort of forget that it's your mate next door.

"It's a stressful environment, but it is quite nice when you shake hands at the start of the game. It doesn't make the preparation or the game itself any more difficult, it just makes it different. That's probably the best way to put it."

The Derby County boss will be hoping to put all allegances with Hurst alongside and come away with the three points which could put the Rams just one point behind league leaders Portsmouth.
