"Every game is difficult": Derby County coach looks ahead to Reading challenge
Derby County vs Reading kicks off at 8pm this evening
Derby County have a big chance to go to the top of League One today as they face a struggling Reading side.
The Rams are currently three points behind league leaders Portsmouth, but with a win tonight will go ahead of them on goal difference.
They face a Reading side who sit in the relegation zone, but are only four points off safety and will be desperate for a win against the Rams.
Derby County's first team coach Matt Hamshaw spoke to Rams TV ahead of the match, he said: "It's a difficult one because up until the last nine or ten games they've struggled, but over the last few weeks there isn't much different between us and them with the points picked up.
"We know a lot of their players, they've got a lot of good League One and arguably Championship players that have been at that level. It's going to be a difficult game for us but with a big pitch, we feel that will suit us.
"Our away record has been good, it is one we are looking forward to."
The Rams come off the back of a disappointing 0-0 draw against Lincoln City at the weekend and Hamshaw says that they weren't at their best.
He added: "We go into every game to win. I felt we controlled a lot of the ball without really having that killer touch and we got caught a couple of times on the counterattack.
"We were disappointed not to get three points. Had we been at our best, we probably would have done and that's the disappointing thing."
Derby have been promotion favourites since the start of the season and with a chance to go to the top of the league the pressure is on.
Matt Hamshaw says it is all part and parcel of being a big club. He said: "It's massive because that's where we want to be. It's a good opportunity.
"Our point on Saturday could look much better if we can get three points on Tuesday, but it's going to be tough. Every game is difficult, but I also think there is a prize on Derby's head because of the size of the club. That's something, when playing for a big club, that you have to deal with."
