Derby County keen on landing Reading midfielder and son of former Ram
Derby County are looking to bolster their midfield during the promotion charge
Derby County are reportedly keen on signing Reading star midfielder Charlie Savage, the son of former Ram Robbie Savage.
According to the Daily Mail, Reading have knocked back Derby's initial approach for Savage but Derby still remain keen.
The 20 year old has made 21 appearances scoring twice. He joined the Royals at the start of the season from Manchester United where he came through the academy ranks.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Savage has already made an appearance for the Wales national side.
Before his move to Reading, the midfielder also spent some time on loan at Forest Green Rovers last season in League One where he made 15 appearances with one goal.
The 20 year-old is a technical, ball playing midfielder, something that the Rams have been looking to add since the summer departure of Jason Knight to Bristol City.
Paul Warne has said that he is aiming to add some more youth with his Derby side having the second highest average age in their starting XI.
Charlie Savage would be a great addition as the Rams look to strengthen their squad ahead of a promotion push in the second half of the season.
