"He is still a Cardiff City player": Boss makes Derby County transfer admission

Derby County have made it no secret that they are trying to sign Ebou Adams to a permanent new deal this summer.
The Cardiff loanee had a very successful loan spell at Pride Park where he became a big part of Derby’s promotion squad.

Cardiff City manager Erol Brulut has been clear in saying that there is interest for the midfielder.
Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, he said: “New season, if we are all together here, we will see how it goes. He is still under contract of Cardiff City - he is a Cardiff City player.
“So let's see how he thinks, how his manager is thinking, how the clubs are thinking - Cardiff City and Derby - and we will see.

Adams’ contract with Cardiff doesn’t run out until next summer so now would be the time to sell him for the Bluebird’s point of view.
It does mean that Derby will have to dip into their wallet if they are to add the midfielder in what will be a very different looking Derby team when the season starts.
As Max Bird, Conor Hourihane and Korey Smith all leave, the Rams have a big need in the middle of the park. Adams would help to fill the void.
