Paul Warne had a very tough task last season trying to bring in quality players without spending much money.
Whilst Derby were no longer under a transfer embargo, they did have the EFL monitoring their spending and so couldn’t splash the cash as they would have liked.
So many of Derby’s signings were free agents, some of which worked out well and some not so well.
However, after a season with such success, how much of an impact did this season’s signings have on Derby’s promotion.
Here are the ratings for all 15 of the signings that Paul Warne made this past season...

5. Elliot Embleton: 4/10
Embleton only made two bench appearances for the Rams before he suffered a season ending injury in training. He went back to Sunderland, his parent club, and that was that. Photo: Frank Reid

6. Kane Wilson: 8/10
Kane Wilson was one of the signings who made more of a consistent impact this season. He made 41 appearances out of 46 games and was impressive in his high energy style of wing back play. A good signing. Photo: Michael Regan

7. Conor Washington: 4/10
Washington was brought in to help provide the Rams with goals, however he struggled in all. He scored three in 19 games and spent the rest of the season out injured. | Getty Images

8. Tyrese Fornah: 6/10
Fornah did show flashes of talent throughout his first season at Derby, but he also struggled to get a run in the team. He could have more of an impact as he develops next season. Photo: Nick Potts
