Arsenal have released former Derby County loanee Tyreece John-Jules who is now available to sign for free.

The 22 year-old is not signing a new deal with the Gunners as his contract runs out at the end of this month.

John-Jules had a somewhat disappointing loan spell with the Rams this past season. He made just 14 appearances after what was an injury-heavy season.

He scored two goals for the Rams, one in the EFL trophy and the other to earn his side the three points against Port Vale away from home in November.

The striker has formerly had loan spells at Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackpool, Doncaster and Lincoln and has failed to fully kick on in his career.

The striker will now seek a new challenge which could be crucial for his development as a player and long term career plans.

Paul Warne has been very appraising of John-Jules and so it would be no surprise to see the Rams try and land him on a permanent deal.

Furthermore, Derby’s current under contract strikers are James Collins and Conor Washington - who are both over 30.

The attacker would add some much needed depth at the striker position and provide Paul Warne with a pacey player up top, which again, is much needed.

The biggest factor for the striker is that he needs to try and avoid injury after multiple seasons have been cut short.
