Derby’s away form has been one of the major reasons that they are on the brink of promotion to the Championship.

The previous record was set in the 2004/05 season when the Rams finished fourth in the Championship under manager George Burley.

They unfortunatley suffered a playoff semi-final defeat to Preston North End, but regardless, the season has been a history-maker until now.

Paul Warne’s Derby had some memorable away wins this year including a 3-0 away victory against local rivals Burton Albion, a 4-2 demolition of promotion rivals Peterborough and a 3-2 win over Oxford United which icluded a memorable comeback from 2-0 down.

However, despite the game only including one goal, Derby’s win on Saturday will be remembered for years to come as not only does it break a club record, but also puts them just one point away from League One promotion.

It is not the only record that the Rams have broken this season as Paul Warne’s side also broke the club record for the most points in a league season (previously 85), just over a week ago against Leyton Orient.

The Rams can also equal their record for most wins in a season if they are successful against Carlisle United at the weekend.
