Derby County took a big step closer to promotion at the weekend with a 1-0 win over Cambridge United.
The game was quite open and end-to-end, so Paul Warne’s players did well to avoid conceding throughout.
The only goal of the game came from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing towards the end of the first half.
Derby are now just one point away from promotion and in the driving seat going into the final day against Carlisle.
Following Saturday’s win, here are Derby County’s player ratings...
1. Joe Wildsmith: 8/10
Joe Wildsmith did show some signs of nerves on Saturday by making a couple of mistakes in possession. However, that will be massivley overshadowed by a save that the Rams' keeper made in the first half which denied a certain goal.
2. Curtis Nelson: 7/10
A solid defensive performance from Nelson who has featured in every minute of Derby's season this year.
3. Sonny Bradley: 8/10
Bradley won almost every header imaginable whenever the ball was put into Derby's penalty area. He played a key part in keeping a clean sheet. Photo: Michael Regan
4. Eiran Cashin: 9/10
Eiran Cashin blocked a number of Cambridge attempts on goal which could have certainly gone in without his input. One of the best on the pitch, he also excelled when winning the ball, helping the Rams to set off on a counter-attack.
