Derby County’s season has been a long and gruelling affair, with the Rams suffering injury after injury to some of their best players.
With just two games to go, there are still a number of names who are dealing with injury problems and some that are out for the season completely.
They face a trip to Cambridge United on Saturday with the possible chance of clinching promotion should other results go their way.
Following that, the final day of the season will be against Carlisle United at Pride Park. A number of players will be hoping that they can recover before the last day so they can help the Rams get over the line.
Here’s the latest Derby County injury news.
1. Max Bird
Max Bird has been out for a month with a calf issue and has been a big loss for the Rams. He is now back in training and will be ready for selection against Cambridge on Saturday and for his final two games as a Derby County player. Photo: Shaun Botterill
2. Joe Ward
Joe Ward is likely out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury that he suffered against Portsmouth. He is set to undergo scans on his knee this week.
3. Callum Elder
Callum Elder's debut season for the Rams has been littered with injury issues. The Australian defender is currently dealing with a groin issue, but should return to training this week. It seems like the Cambridge game will come too soon for Elder but he should be available for the last game of the season against Carlisle United.
4. Craig Forsyth
Craig Forsyth has been dealing with a minor calf injury. He'll likley not be ready for Saturday's game but could be ready for a bench appearance against Carlisle in what will most likely be his last game in a Derby shirt after an 11 year spell.
