Where Derby County’s eight departures have moved to this summer
Eight players have left Pride Park this summer, here’s a breakdown of where they have all ended up.
Curtis Davies - Cheltenham Town
Former Rams captain Curtis Davies headed to League One rivals Cheltenham Town on a free transfer after his contract at Pride Park expired in June.
The 38-year-old centre back made 175 appearances for the Rams and became somewhat of a club legend in the process.
He’ll be missed by Rams fans.
David McGoldrick - Notts County
One season of perfection wasn’t enough to stop David McGoldrick heading back to his boyhood club, Notts County.
The 35 year-old scored 25 goals in all competitons last season for the Rams in what was a career year.
Both Derby County and Notts County offered McGoldrick a deal, however the lure of his boyhood club was too much to turn down. He’ll be fondly remebered at Pride Park.
Jason Knight - Bristol City
Jason Knight left the Rams this summer after he spent six years at Pride Park.
He made over 160 appearances for the Rams scoring 14 goals along the way.
He left for Bristol City for an undisclosed fee with Kane Wilson coming back the other way to Pride Park.
Krystian Bielik - Birmingham City
Krystian Bielik’s time at Derby County was dissapointing as a whole.
The Polish international was struck with injury a lot whilst at Pride Park, he made just 49 appearances in four years with the Rams whilst also spending one of those four seasons on loan at new club Birmingham City.
Bielik arrived from Arsenal for £8.2 million and was sold to the Blues for an undisclosed fee, expected to be around £2 million.
Kwaku Oduroh - Rochdale FC
Kwaku Oduroh left the Rams on a one year loan deal to National League outfit Rochdale.
The Manchester City academy product has only made six first team appearances. He’s a very promising prospect however and so a loan move away should give him some well needed experience of more regular football.
Sonny Blu Lo-Everton - Yeovil Town
Many won’t have heard of Lo-Everton. The 20-year-old came up through Watford’s academy before joining the Rams in 2022.
He’s left on a free transfer for Yeovil Town, a team that he previously went on loan to back in August 2021.
James Chester, Richard Stearman - Both unsigned
Veteran defenders Chester and Stearman both were released after not extending their contracts at Pride Park.
They are both yet to be signed by anyone and remain free agents.
