Sun on Sunday journalist Alan Nixon has revealed on Twitter that the Rams have been ‘trying for weeks’ to sign Adams, but as of yet there is no new updates.
Adams’ contract at Cardiff expires in summer next year so the Rams will have to dip into their pockets if he is to return. Fees of £300k-£500k have been swirling around the rumour mill but as no deal has yet been done, it may be the case that Cardiff want more for him.

Adams, 28, became a fan favourite in just half a season at Derby as Pride Park could be heard with chants of “sign him up” directed at the midfielder.
He scored Derby’s goal of the season too against Blackpool during the run in which proved to give his side a crucial three points.

Hide AdThe midfielder hasn’t spoken much on what his plans are regarding either a move back to Derby or remaining at Cardiff, however it seems clear that he certainly wouldn’t turn down the chance to return to Pride Park.
With the transfer window opening on Friday, news regarding Adams’ situation could be just around the corner, and hopefully for Rams’ fans it will be about a return to playing in black and white.
