Derby County have got off to a slightly lacklustre start to the season and have struggled to bring players in that they need. Here’s how Derby’s state of play lies regarding the transfer window.
Eiran Cashin
Derby’s young star Eiran Cashin has received transfer interest, most notably from Premier League highfliers Brighton. Derby have received a number of bids for the 21-year-old, but they have not met the club’s demands.

Speaking to Derbyshire Live, head coach Paul Warne said: “There have been bids in for Cash and it has been going on for a period of time.
“They have been increasing and as I speak to you now, none of them have been accepted.”
Cashin’s departure seems most likley to depart from Pride Park as things stand.

Injury Replacements
Derby’s first team has been hit by the injury bug which won’t help the Rams.
Star midfielder Max Bird suffered an ankle injury against Oxford United which will sideline him for eight weeks.
Furthermore, wing-back Joe Ward also faces eight weeks out and Kane Wilson could be out for even longer than that.

In his post-match press conference after the Fleetwood Town victory, Warne admitted that Derby “are not a top three team” and that more signings will be needed if they are to get promoted this year. The injuries to Bird, Ward and Wilson will just emphasise the need to bring in reinforcements.
Midfielder signing for the Rams?
Paul Warne has been vocal about his desire to bring in another midfielder and it seems as though Derby are closing in on a deal. It has not been confirmed yet as to who the player is, but speaking after the Fleetwood game, Warne told Derbyshire Live: “They are never in until they are in. I think I joked the other day that until I can smell their neck, they are not actually in the building.
“I like to think we are close on a couple and I just feel like, and I am getting full support from the football club, we are just going to have to push harder to get them over the line.”

Reading defender coming to Pride Park
Derby County are reportedly interested in Reading full back Andy Yiadom who still has two years left on his contract at Reading although he has been told that he can leave.
He would help to fill the void that Kane Wilson and Joe Ward have left due to their injuries which will sideline them both for at least eight weeks.
Search for a striker
What feels like an endless quest to find a replacement for David McGoldrick seems to continue as the Rams have reportedly been interested in a number of strikers but are yet to find their man.

According to The Sun’s football reporter Alan Nixon, Paul Warne is interested in the stiker and looking at a possible deal for the 26-year-old, however there is also interest from League One rivals Blackpool and Charlton Athletic.
Paul Warne rejects claims he’s interested in Rotherham centre back
Paul Warne has shut down claims that he’s interested in signing Cameron Humphreys, a player that he signed whilst at Rotherham.
He told Derbyshire Live: “I take full credit for signings Humphreys and he’s an amazing centre back, but I don’t know if you have noticed, I have quite a lot of centre-backs and I have not got £1.5million.”
