Craig Forsyth vs Wigan Athletic

Entering his 11th season with the club. 34-year-old Craig Forsyth stamped his impact on the team immediately with a strike against Wigan Athletic on the opening day. The powerful volley came in the 57th minute to equalise. The Rams went on to lose the game but the strike by Derby’s defensive veteran will be remebered.

With the Rams struggling at 2-0 down, Martyn Waghorn pounced on a throw into the box from Curtis Nelson scoring a low volley in the 87th minute to give Derby a breath of hope in equalising. Unfortunatley they couldn’t capitalise on Waghorn’s fantastic finish.
Conor Hourihane vs Burton Albion

Derby County’s captain capitalised on a lovely attacking move by the Rams with a curling top corner finish right in front of Derby’s away support.
The goal was Derby’s second of the game coming in the 78th minute and contributed to a fantastic 3-0 away win.
A great goal against a local rival, it deserves to be nominated.
