They sit on the same number of points as sixth placed Barnsley and Blackpool but have a game in hand on two teams above them.

Derby are certainly pushing to make the playoffs after a slow start to the season early on.

They come out of the international break nine points off the top of the league and ready to face Bristol Rovers on Saturday 25 November.

Despite their recent good form, there are a few teams ahead of them that have been that bit better in recent weeks. Here are the three most in form teams in League One.

3 - Stevenage

Stevenage have been the surprise package of League One this season as the newly-promoted side find themselves very much in the promotion race.

Steve Evans' side have won their last three league games and are unbeaten in five.

One of those five games was a 3-1 win against the Rams when Paul Warne's side made the trip to Lamex Stadium in a one sided affair where the hosts really showed their quality.

They currently find themselves fourth, five points ahead of the Rams and just five points off the league leaders Portsmouth.

Despite being newly-promoted, they have proven that they are a real contender and will be vying for the Championship come the end of the season.

2 - Portsmouth

John Mousinho's Pompey have been leading the league for a long period now. They have continued on their hot start and currently lead the league by one point over Oxford United.

Before the season started, Pompey were one of the promotion favourites and they have lived up to that expectation.

After 16 games, they are still unbeaten and have won seven of their past nine games.

The Rams managed to hold off Portsmouth when they made the trip to Pride Park in September after the game ended in a close 1-1 draw that seemed to show that Paul Warne's side weren't too far off the league leaders.

Nine points ahead of the Rams, Pompey will be eyeing up a league title but face a tough test in the form of promotion rivals Blackpool on Saturday.

1 - Bolton Wanderers

Last year's playoff disappointment hasn't scuppered the form of Bolton Wanderers. Ian Evatt's side lost in the semi-finals to Barnsley but have repeated their promotion calibre form this season.

They sit in third place, just one point off league leaders Portsmouth and have won their last five league games and have only lost once in nine games.

Evatt's side have been on fire lately beating tough opponents such as Blackpool, Stevenage and Charlton Athletic.

They hosted the Rams early on in the season at the Toughsheet Community Stadium when Paul Warne's side couldn't keep up with Bolton in what was a 2-1 win for the home side.

They'll meet again in mid-March in a game at Pride Park that could end up being crucial for the promotion race.

Bolton face an out of sorts Exeter City on Saturday before a huge Tuesday night clash against Oxford United next week.
