Derby County face Northampton Town on Saturday 23 March

Derby County head into this week looking for their fifth win in a row after they beat promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at Pride Park.

The Rams solidified their spot in second place and now have a four point lead over Bolton in third.

They face a trip to Northampton this weekend as they look to add to their good form and edge ever closer to promotion from League One.

The Cobblers have settled for mid-table obscurity as they haven't won in their last five games. Jon Brady's side are 13 points off the playoffs and so aren't likely to make a push into the top six at the end of the season.

After their poor run, Northampton manager Jon Brady says that they need to improve for Saturday's game against Derby.

He said, on Northampton Town's news page: “We need our edge back, I don’t want the season to drift and I want us to finish the season strong. “We need to be better all over and I feel we have just lost that edge in our play and mindset."

The Cobblers lost 2-0 to Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend in what was a poor performance. They conceded two sloppy goals which led to the defeat, something that Brady was frustrated with.

He added: “You have got to be relentless at this level, those goals shouldn’t go in today and we have got to address that.

“We’ve got one of the hardest challenges in the league next weekend and maybe we need that. I’m sure there will be a full house at Sixfields and its an opportunity for us to get back on track.”
