"It was a really tight game last time": Paul Warne looks ahead to FA Cup replay
Derby County vs Crewe Alexandra kicks off at 7.45pm at Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday 14 November
Derby County face the challenge of Crewe Alexandra yet again on Tuesday night as they drew 2-2 in the first FA Cup match forcing a replay.
The Rams will host as they look to make it two wins from two as they come off the back of a 3-0 win over Barnsley in the league on Saturday.
Crewe also are coming off the back of a big league win against Notts County in League Two where they won 1-0 in a close fought match.
Paul Warne will be hoping his side can come through the challenge which would set up a second round match against League One rivals Bristol Rovers.
Ahead of the replay, Warne understands that it won't be an easy task, he told Rams TV: "They are really well organised and a threat up top, which we knew anyway.
"They caused us problems at times at their place, although we had a lot of the play. They are coming into this one off the back off a late win against Notts County at the weekend, which is a massive boost for them, and both of sides come into this one in good form.
"It was a really tight game last time and I know it will be another tough one, which we will look forward to."
Derby's form has taken an upturn in recent weeks, however they still find themselves in seventh in League One.
The Derby boss says he would have hoped to be higher, but there are a lot of positives to take. He added: "I'd like to be higher in the league but I've been pleased for the most part since the start of the season. If we win our game in hand we are only a point behind Peterborough United and they are one of the in-form teams.
"Our actual form is really good and I thought the lads looked really fit in the second half on Saturday against Barnsley.
"This is normally the time of year where my teams kick in and I thought we looked really strong and hopefully that can continue with another strong performance in this cup tie."
