Young striker to return: Derby County injury update ahead of Bristol Rovers

Derby County come out of the international break with almost a fully fit squad as they look to build a run together to move up into the playoff places.

Paul Warne's side currently sit in seventh place, level on points with sixth-placed Barnsley.

This weekend, they face Bristol Rovers at Pride Park before heading to Port Vale on Tuesday night.

The Rams should be blessed with a mostly fit team in this busy upcoming period.

Tyreece John-Jules

Tyreece John-Jules has only made two appearances since joining from Arsenal on loan in the summer due to a thigh injury.

He is set to return this weekend assuming there's no major setback and could be in line for a place on the bench.

He will be desperate to showcase his ability as fairly soon, Paul Warne will need to decide whether they want to keep him until the end of the season or send him back to Arsenal.

Liam Thompson

Liam Thompson has been dealing with a quad injury since mid-September after he'd had a good spell in the first team.

The 22 year-old is edging closer to a return to training and will be expecting to make a full recovery within a couple of weeks.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing went off with a knock against Barnsley, but it doesn't seem to be serious.

He didn't feature in the Rams' 3-1 loss in the FA Cup against Crewe Alexandra after the Barnsley game, but having had over a week to recover, he should be back in the squad on Saturday.

Jake Rooney

Jake Rooney is recovering from a serious ACL injury that he suffered in the Rams 2-1 away loss to Bolton Wanderers in early September.

The defender has undergone surgery and will be out of action for the majority of the season.
