Jet2 announces brand-new 2026 Christmas market route from East Midlands Airport in response to high demand

The route will be available for winter 2026/27

Jet2 has announced plans for a brand-new route from East Midlands Airport as part of its winter 2026/27 programme.

The airline says that continued high demand has prompted an expansion of its Christmas market routes for next winter.

Next winter’s offering will feature six Christmas market destinations available direct from East Midlands Airport, including a new route to Gdansk, Poland.

Two new weekly services (Monday and Friday) will operate to the Polish city from November 27 to December 21, 2026.

As a Christmas market destination, Gdansk truly sparkles as the Old Town transforms into a glittering maze of lights.

Holidaymakers can follow the scent of mulled wine through the cobbled streets, browse wooden stalls bursting with handmade gifts and local treats while soaking up the sounds of music and festive spirit.

Jet2 will also offer seasonal flights to Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Prague and Vienna as part of its winter 2026/27 programme from East Midlands Airport.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to be putting a brand-new festive route on sale to Gdansk from East Midlands Airport and giving holidaymakers even more choice for Winter 2026/2027.

“The expansion comes in direct response to the continued demand we are seeing from customers and independent travel agents looking to explore the most magical winter wonderlands across Europe.

“We look forward to taking holidaymakers to popular Christmas market destinations and helping them to feel at their most festive.”

Steve Griffiths, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport, added: “It’s great that Jet2 have already got a Christmas treat lined up for East Midlands Airport customers for next year.

“Flights to Christmas Market destinations are increasingly popular so I’m sure there will be plenty of interest in exploring Gdansk, along with the five others that Jet2 serves from East Midlands.

“Customers will benefit from a wide range of improvements throughout the terminal, and we’ll be sure to provide everyone with a hassle-free start to their festive trip.”
