A popular music festival will be returning this summer to treat soul fans to 11 hours of music.

Belper Soul Festival will take place at Makeney Hall Hotel, 15 minutes away from Derby city centre.

The festival starts at 2pm and ends 11 hours’ later at 1am.

Organisers have promised a gig that will be ‘bigger and better’ than last year’s debut event.

Held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, the hotel venue means hard core music fans who are up dancing all hours can get accommodation at Makeney Hall Hotel, a luxurious 4-star venue with countryside views and a conservatory restaurant.

The festival will be hosting the region's best DJs spinning tunes across three rooms.

They will play various soul genres including Motown, northern soul, modern soul, 80s groove and disco.

Reflecting on the popularity of the event, a spokesperson from the festival said: “Our last event was completely sold out, so we are encouraging people to book early to guarantee entry to this year's event.

“We have now sold 80% of our allocation therefore there will be no pay on the door for this event.”
