Derby’s Assemble Festival celebrating creativity in the city took place on Saturday October 26, 2024 at the Museum of Making.
Organisers say over 1,000 people flocked to the city site for the Assemble Festival.
Attendees of all ages enjoyed the day packed with fun demonstrations.
Stalls were filled with handmade artisan products made by Derby’s very own creative community.
2024 marked the return of the festival following a two-year hiatus.
The day was dedicated to creativity, invention and innovation.
It gave people the chance to see up close, the mechanics of creations, including a life-size robot dog which drew gasps of delight from the crowd.
The day saw over 75 stalls manned by engineers, crafters, artists and makers who opened a window into their creative process.
Organisers were thrilled with the turnout. Posting on social media they wrote: ‘Wow what a day! Over 1,000 of you joined us at Assemble on Saturday to celebrate all things making.
‘You met over 75 makers and enjoyed creativity and making in all its weird and wonderful forms, from robotics to printing, clay modelling to engineering.
‘The atmosphere was electric! Thank you to everyone who attended and our fantastic makers. Hope to see you again next year!’
