Derby events: Comedy club fundraiser to help budding comics perform at Edinburgh Fringe Festival
A comedy night in Derby is adding an altruistic element to its show, by raising money to support new comics on the scene.

Hide AdThe Happy Tuesday event runs on the second Tuesday of every month and the next one will be on Tuesday May 14, 2024.
Money raised on the night will help Best In Class, a crowd-funded, profit sharing show that helps working class comedians to perform at high profile events including Edinburgh Fringe.
The Fringe is one of the world's largest performance arts festivals and a platform for new talent to shine.

Hide AdIt is where Richard Gadd debuted his show Baby Reindeer in August 2019, before performing at the Bush Theatre in London for a five-week run.
On the night, Maxine Wade is the headline act with support from Will Burns, Patrick Draper, Stuart Dunlop and Lizzy Lenco.
Lizzy is also one of the organisers of the Happy Tuesday comedy night which is part of The Comedy Writers' Club.

Hide AdThe fundraiser holds a special place in Lizzy’s heart, being a working class girl born in Glossop, Derbyshire.
Lizzy said: “Happy Tuesdays aims to bring a diverse range of national and local acts to Derby.
“There is something for everyone and it has a welcoming atmosphere too!
