The three-day festival is a key fixture in the city’s cultural calendar, running from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 October, 2024.

Not to do things by halves, the festival will take over a bustling city venue and 17th century pub, The Old Bell Hotel.

This pub’s location in Cathedral Quarter means it is ideally placed.

People can duck in and out of the venue, to enjoy a range of outdoor activities and entertainment that includes live music and dancing on the cobbled streets of Sadler Gate.

There will be seven concerts playing at The Old Bell Hotel over the course of three days.

Tickets for these will be sold individually, or there is the option to purchase a weekend pass.

People therefore have the option to enjoy just one concert or the whole weekend.

Free street music and dancing will be a treat for people passing by, who may not have bought tickets, in a bid for organisers to ‘engage with the community.’

Ticket prices vary per artist, for example Michell, Pfeiffer & Kulesh / Hannah Scott tickets start from £11.

A spokesperson from Derby Folk Weekend told Derby World: “The concert will see artists that are a mix of well-known names from the broad folk genre, as well as younger or newer to the scene artists, plus those supported through the Mick Peat Bursary.

“Alongside the ticketed concerts there will be free music and dance on the streets around the Cathedral Quarter – brightening the October weekend, and bringing a great atmosphere to the city centre!
