Hide AdOrganisers of Derby Mela are welcoming the people of Derby to ‘experience hometown talent’ and more on Sunday August 20, 2023.
People should expect a carnival atmosphere, so if you fancy something different to your usual Sunday night, visit the Derby Mela for a fun evening out.

Derby Mela is therefore no different, and it also boasts a stellar line-up of acclaimed artistes.

Sunday August 20, from 1pm till 7pm.

Normanton Park, Warwick Avenue, Derby DE23 8DA
What is the cost to enter Derby Mela?
It is free to attend this ticketed event.
However as pre-booking on the website has stopped, limited walk-ups may be available on the day.
Who will be performing?

Hide AdThere will be dancers performing from Shakti Academy and Addi Tappa Gidda Group, whilst Dhol players Dholi Amo and Dholi Gugs will be playing some catchy beats on the double-headed drums.
Hosts from BBC Radio Derby’s Satvinder Rana, Pam Sidhu and Poli Tank will also be making the event one to remember.
There will be special set from Tru Skool, Paramount Roadshow on the decks, plus music from Shin DCS, Asif Khan, Preet Kaur, Munraj, Khushi Kaur and a qawwali special from Rubaya Pirzada.

Hide AdDerby’s JK, and world renowned folk singer Angrej Ali are also set to take the stage at Normanton Park.
The Punjabi music celebrity posted a social media video on August 15 where he sang a classic Punjabi folk song called Tharti Hildi, showing his excitement at his upcoming performance at Derby Mela.
