Photos from Derby County Millwall match shows thrilled fans enjoying dramatic finale

Derby County FC took on Millwall FC at The Den on Saturday October 19, 2024.

The Rams faced off against the Lions, in a match draw that saw Derby pick up their first away point - also the first of the Championship season.

Jerry Yates’ goal in the 78th minute, also his first for Derby, put the Rams ahead.

A victory was short-lived, as a late goal by Millwall substitute Mihailo Ivanović saw the hosts equalise in the 85th minute.

Yates’ goal in the second half brought hope to a tough match where the Lions put up a spirited defence.

Derby’s first substitution saw Kane Wilson enter the game in the 34th minute after right back Ryan Nyambe left the field with a knee injury.

Wilson took seconds to impact the game, as a one-two between him and Kenzo Goudmijn created an opening on the right zone forcing a foul and yellow card for Joe Bryan.

The free-kick saw the Rams shooting three headers that came close but were ultimately thwarted by a strong Lions defence, leading to a goalless half-time score.

The Yates’ goal in the 78th minute is his first since joining from Swansea City on a season-long loan.

The match draw sees Derby County win their first point on the road this term.

It is set to be another busy week for the Rams in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Rams will go up against Oxford United on Tuesday, October 22, for a 7.45pm kick-off.

They will then play host to Hull City at Pride Park stadium on Saturday October 26, for a 3pm kick-off.
