Derby County welcomed Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park Stadium on Sunday, December 1, 2024 for a Sky Bet Championship match.

The Rams’ early goal against The Owls was a brilliant start to the match when E. Adams hit the back of the net in the ninth minute.

Derby dominated in the first half, however heartache was on the cards for the Rams thanks to quick-footed visitors.

Captain Bannan’s goal in the 64th minute swept past Rams’ goal-keeper Zetterström to provide a beautiful equaliser.

It took Lowe’s low cross goal from six yards away from the net, in added time (90'+4’) to ultimately propel Sheffield Wednesday to victory, handing The Rams a third home defeat of the season.

Speaking to Rams TV, Paul Warne said: “I was really proud [of the team] we try and drive performances, and obviously we want results, and we wanted to go home with three points today.

“We just didn’t get that second goal, that was elusive for us, unfortunately there was a wonder-strike from Barry Bannan, I don’t know how many players on the pitch can have scored that, truth be told.

“I feel for the lads, they’ve given everything, we made as many changes as we could. I don’t think it was a bad performance in anyway, however the scoreline would suggest different.”
